Eminem has decided that since he has been gone for while he might as well come back hard and make 2009 his year.  His first project, ‘Relapse’, will hit stores May 19th.  Eminem told MTV.com

“A lot of people were expecting Relapse to drop last year. I was one of them. Then Dre and I went back in the studio in September for a few days, and that turned into six months. We were on such a roll; we wound up with a ton of new music produced by Dre. Putting outRelapse 2 will let everyone get all of the best stuff.”

This will be a huge year for the Dre, Eminem, 50 cent team.  Relapse 1 and 2 coming out this year, Dr. Dre’s De Tox and 50 Cent ‘Before I Self Destruct. 

Also Eminem will be dropping Relapse the same day that Lil Wayne’s rock project, ‘Rebirth’ and also Busta Rhymes’ ‘B.O.M.B.’ are scheduled to come out.

A Georgia Judge dismissed drug charges against Lil Wayne Tuesday March 3.  The charges came from an August 2006 arrest at the Twelve Hotel in Atlanta. Police allegedly found unnamed bottles of hydrocodone and Xanax as well as marijuana in a room the rapper was in.  According to Allhiphop.com William Head, Lil Wayne’s attorney, successfully argued that the search of the room was illegal. He argued that Lil Wayne wasn’t in the room during the search and that the room wasn’t registered to the rapper.

I dont know how any prosecutors thought that this case would stick.  And this isnt just because Lil Wayne is famous.  If this would have been Joe Schmoe from Bankhead this case would have been dropped.

And that is 1 down 2 to go cause in his other open cases on is scheduled to begin jury selection on April 20th in the NYC for weapons possession and one count of criminal possession of a loaded weapon.  If found guilty Wayne can serve 15 years behind bars. And he is also facing drug and weapons charges in Arizona. Last year DEA agents allegedly found marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy and a 40-caliber pistol during a border patrol inspection of his tour bus.

Lil Wayne Teams With Eli Manning

Lil Wayne will continue his sports coverage as he will be featured on the upcoming “Rock & Jocks Big Game Special” this weekend. Weezy will appear along side Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning to show never-before-seen footage of the last Super Bowl weekend in Tampa, Florida.

Other people featured on the special include NFL Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, American Idol Winner Jordin Sparks, ESPN Anchor Kenny Mayne, pop legend MC Hammer, “Entourage” star Kevin Dillon, and more. Live performances from LL Cool J, Wyclef Jean, Rihanna, Fall Out Boy and Life House will be featured. Check out the special on Saturday Feb 21, 2009 at 1030pm.

50 Spills His Blood On The Sand

50 Cent will follow up his first video game (Bulletproof) with the release of his new THQ backed video game, “Blood On The Sand.” 50 says he helped with the game “I was really involved with the process of making this actual game. Early on, we went and sat down. They showed me stills of where they can actually make the environment look that way and I had my own ideas and input,” 50 Cent revealed.

The new game will feature a huge soundtrack as 50 says “You got hit music from the Curtis album, which was my last album. And that’s with me and Justin Timberlake, me and Robin Thicke, me and Mary J. Blige, me and Akon, me and Dr. Dre, me and Eminem,” 50 Cent’s Blood on the Sand is due in stores on Feb. 24.

Soulja Boy Looks To Ringtone After Album Flop

Soulja Boy’s new album is not selling but Soulja Boy says that’s ok. The crack dat rapper says if he doesn’t make the money from album sales, he will with ringtones “I got the number one ringtone in the country right now…I love those ringtones. If the album doesn’t work out, the ringtones will. And that’s the thing about the game that I got on lock…”

Soulja Boy admitted to the low sales saying “It really was [disappointing],” but SB says the numbers are going up “My album is turning around now, like, usually, after you have an album that doesn’t do so well, it usually just straight declines, you know what I’m saying? But not mine, my album sales are going up as my single ‘Kiss Me Through The Phone‘ is risen up.” After more than two months in stores, Soulja Boy’s latest album has only sold 135,000 copies.

Nas Is Having A Son, Talks New Album

Nas took to his blog to let everyone have a little update on his life. The Queensbridge MC first announced the sex of his baby with wife Kelis’ saying “I’m sure that y’all heard K is expecting. The internet seems to be more excited than I am. It’s crazy! I got too much to think about, and I didn’t wanna leave all my fans out the loop. But I wanted to let ya’ll know from me personally that I’m having my first SON!!!!!”

Nas continued by talking about his upcoming project with Reggae singer Damian “Junior Gong” Marley saying “I been celebrating life ya’ll,” he shared. “Also I want you all to know that the Nas and Damian Marley album is coming in the next few months. It’s something we have been secretly working on. Tour this summer too!”

Chris Breaks Silence, Issues Statement

After weeks of silence, Chris Brown has now issued a statement about the alleged attack of girlfriend Rihanna. Chris says “Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God’s help, to emerging a better person.”

Chris Brown goes on to clear up all the speculation about what exactlty went down saying “Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writings under my name are frauds.”

The statement from Brown never refers to Rihanna directly and recently Chris’s dad said “He’s reflecting on this situation. He’s very remorseful. He’s very concerned about the situation he wants to make sure that (Rihanna is) okay.”

50’s New Cartoon – Rick Ross Arrests Chris Brown

50 Cent continues to bash Rick Ross as a new episode of his Saturday morning “Officer Ricky” cartoon hit the net titled “Everybody Hates Chris”. In the new cartoon, 50 shows Rick Ross at the scene of last week’s domestic dispute between Chris Brown and Rihanna “Even though he has huge rap dreams, Officer Ricky still takes his career as a police officer very seriously as he chases down Chris Brown, the latest in his quest to lock up all of the music industry,” the episodes description reads.

The cartoon shows Ricky as a police officer showing up the the fight between Chris Brown and Rihanna, who are shown as characters in the Street Fighter game. The video then shows DJ Khaled viewing the latest “Pimpin Curly” video 50 released. DJ Khaled then gets beat around even by Osama Bin Ladin and ends with 50 Cent in jail with Chris Brown.

Black Eyed Peas Plan The E.N.D.

After four years without an album, The Black Eyed Peas are coming back. The new album from the Peas will be titled “The E.N.D.” and will hit stores on June 9th. Standing for “The Energy Never Dies,” the new album will be boosted by its first single “Boom Boom Pow.”

will.i.am says he wanted to focus on bringing fans to the dance floor with the new album saying “We wanted to make a record that would make people dance.” The Black Eyed Peas, made up of will.i.am, apl.de.ap, TabooFergie, had their last album, “Monkey Business,” go nine times platinum.

Jeezy Invites Bill O’Reilly To His Neighborhood

Young Jeezy is planning to release another mixtape, this one titled “The Black House: Thug Mansion.” Jeezy says “The streets called me, the ‘hood looking for me. I gotta bounce back, baby.” After Bill O’Reilly and Dennis Miller called him and Jigga racist for their song “My President,” Jeezy is inviting Bill to come to his hood for an interview saying “I got white friends. It’s nothing like that. I’m a taxpayer, I got a right to voice my opinion at any point in time. I don’t think he really understands my struggle.”

Chris Brown Hires Mel Gibson’s Savior

Chris Brown continues to take steps to clear his name. Brown recently hired crisis management expert, Alan Nierob, to help with his current situation after the alleged assault of Rihanna. Alex Nierob is known for helping out celebrities in trouble. Nierob was the publicist who helped save Mel Gibson’s career after he went on his infamous anti-Semitic tirade. Gibson was pulled over by the cops and proceeded to tell the police officer “Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world.”

Lil Wayne has been hit with a $1.3 million lawsuit by a concert promoter for allegedly cancelling 3 times.

TMZ.com reports that Edward Strickland, GM of RMF Productions, filed the lawsuit in New York City and it names the rapper, his manager Cortez Bryant, and others. According to Strickland, who advanced the rapper $100,000 in October, the only time he heard from Lil Wayne was via text message when he canceled a scheduled performance in Rochester for the third time on January 21st. According to Strickland, the text blamed the cancellation on “logistics of his band.”

Lil Waynes manager gave a detailed explanation for the cancellation to Allhiphop.com…

“Now that Wayne’s doing these bigger shows, he wants to make sure that all of his fans are getting the same experience. It would have been too difficult to travel with the entire band, then turn around and head to Calgary the next day. We didn’t want the Rochester fans to get any less of a show because of logistics. We wanted to deliver the same caliber show we’ve delivered along the tour.”

This isn’t new for Lil Wayne.  Weezy been cancelling shows even before he was doing huge shows and it wasn’t for logistics reasons.  It was either he didn’t want to be searched before the show or the Syyyyrrrrruuuuppp was heavy in his system.  So don’t give me the whole the show is a lot bigger now and we want all the fans to have the same experience Lil Wayne just cancel shows its what he does.

Cash Money Throwing Grammy Party for Lil Wayne

When your label’s biggest star is up for eight Grammy Awards including the album of the year, I guess it calls for a special celebration. Cash Money Records has announced that it will throw its first annual Pre-Grammy Party in honor of Lil Wayne on Saturday night, February 7th, at 8 p.m. at the Montage Beverly Hills.

Rick Ross Responds to 50 Cent

Miami-based rapper Rick Ross isn’t waving the white flag after 50 Cent released an online video interview with the mother of Ross’s 2-year-old son, William Roberts III. In the interview, Tia Kemp call Ross out for renting his jewelry, leasing his cars, and drawing out a child support battle for over two years. Later in the clip, 50 Cent takes Kemp and a friend shopping. Kemp is allegedly working on a tell-all book about her life with Ross.

“You gotta understand, she has never made more than $300 a week in her life. Would I stand between her making a few dollars with this monkey? Of course not, go up there, accomplish whatever you feel you need to accomplish, he’s never hurt a f***ing bird, a fly. I’m pretty sure you’ll be surrounded by cops. He’s an informant. Just as a reminder, he doesn’t count in the South.”

“We not gonna let Curly distract us from the fact ‘Mafia Music’ ended his career. The man has not charted a Number One record in Lord knows how long.”  Ross added, “He makes Dr. Dre look like a ****. Jennifer Hudson going on Tour and Jamie Foxx Wants In

Jennifer Hudson’s return to public life after the deaths of three family members last October seems to be complete. After performing a stellar, albeit pre-taped, national anthem at the Super Bowl on Sunday (February 1st), the Oscar winner and Grammy nominee has her sights set on a national tour.  

Actor and singer Jamie Foxx, who sent Hudson an inspirational text message after her Super Bowl performance, has already volunteered to tour with his Dreamgirls co-star.

“She’s doing well,” Foxx told Entertainment Tonight. “She says she wants to get back into the flow of things. Hopefully, we will go out on tour together and, you know, heal the world with our music.”

Bobby to be a Papi Again

Bobby Brown, everybody’s favorite R&B bad boy-turned-reality TV star, is reportedly expecting a baby with his manager and fiancee, Alicia Etheridge. Photos of the two strolling in Los Angeles, with Etheridge sporting what looks to be a significant baby bump, have turned up on several websites. The two have been dating for nearly two years.

Filmmaker and music produce QDIII recently released a new documentary about two Los Angeles gangs titled,Crips & Bloods: Made In America. XXLmag.com reports that the project was produced by NBA star Baron Davis and Jessica Alba’s husband Cash Warren. The project, which was directed by Stacy Peralta and narrated by Forrest Whitaker, is currently playing across the nation in select theaters.

Ne-Yo Wants to Write for Lady GaGa

Hit-maker Ne-Yo, who has penned chart-topping hits for Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson, Mario, and others, says that next on his wish list of potential collaborators is dance-pop queen Lady GaGa, whose tune “Just Dance” featuring Colby O’Donis has remained on top of the Hot 100 for several weeks. “I really hope GaGa and I can work together. I have never been so excited about an artist before. Being yourself is what makes an artist,” Ne-Yo told the U.K.’s Daily Star.

The “Miss Independent” singer clearly admires GaGa’s independent style, even if it’s a bit unusual. “She is a strange one, but it’s refreshing,” Ne-Yo continued. “She makes no apologies for being who she is. Chris Brown and Shaq Team Up For All-Star Game

Pop singer Chris Brown will team up with Phoenix Suns’ star center Shaquille O’Neal to introduce the players for the NBA All Star Game, set for Sunday, February 15th, at the US Airways Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Brown, a major basketball fan, is not officially scheduled to perform at the game, while John Legend and Colombian rock star Juanes are the headliners for the halftime show. The game will be broadcast live on TNT.

Justin Talks About Dancing With Beyonce

Justin Timberlake says removing his bathrobe is all it took to convinced Beyonce to let him do the spoof of her “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” music video on SNL last fall. In an interview on Katie Couric’s pre-Grammy special on CBS, Timberlake says Beyonce wasn’t convinced that he’d be able to pull off dancing in a skimpy costume and high heels. So he stopped by her dressing room and took off his bathrobe, leaving him in just a leotard and a pair of pumps. According to Timberlake, Beyonce was completely caught off guard and said, “I can’t look anywhere but your face right now.” Timberlake also talks about his mother’s reaction to his raunchy “D–k in a Box” spoof, costarring Andy Samberg. He says, “You gotta meet my mom. She’s a pretty edgy chick!” Timberlake says when it come to acting, he just tries to have fun, explaining, “I have a day job, so [acting] becomes a hobby that I can really plunge into with full creative eagerness.”

Is Joaquin Phoenix Rapping Career a Hoax? Lets Hope So

Joaquin Phoenix’s puzzling career switch from actor to rapper may just be an elaborate hoax. A source toldEW.com’s Hollywood Insider blog that Phoenix’s brother-in-law Casey Affleck hatched the scheme and is filming his media appearances and performances for a documentary that pokes fun at pompous actors and the media.

A source who allegedly recently worked with Phoenix is quoted as saying, “(Phoenix) said, ‘It’s a put-on. I’m going to pretend to have a meltdown and change careers, and Casey is going to film it.’  The source added, “It’s an art project for him. He’s going full out. He probably has told his reps that he’s quit acting. Joaquin is very smart. This is very conscious. He has a huge degree of control.”

Rapper Lil’ Wayne will release his next album, Tha Carter III: The Rebirth, on April 7th. MTV.com reports that fans will be surprised to find out that the project is a rock album. The first single from the project is “Prom Queen.” The rapper will debut the song on the Internet after the live MySpace stream of his San Diego I Am Music tour concert stop tomorrow night, January 27th.
