Plot: A Mumbai teen who grew up in the slums, becomes a contestant on the Indian version of “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” He is arrested under suspicion of cheating, and while being interrogated, events from his life history are shown which explain why he knows the answers.

Hey everybody loves the underdog and in this movie the underdog is a poor 20yr old Jamal Malik (Patel) who has grown up in the slums of India …and ends up on the Indian version of who wants to be a millionaire.

Malik and his older brother Salim ( played by Mittal) are the true epitome of hustlers. Orphaned  at a young age when a group of men invade the slums that they live in and start fucking the inhabitants up.  In the process killing there mother who takes a brutal shot to the dome.

A series of events then start to unfold and take place as the two shorties become ultimate con kids riding atop a train across India running scams to make money. The funniest one is the two post up at the Taj Mahal and pose as tour guides running mad script and making up shit to fool the dumb ass Americans that come to see the Majestic Palace lol…priceless!

From the jump you can see that Malik is the kid that just seems to get all the breaks because he is a good guy, his older brother Salim is the consumate asshole terrorist older brother that envies  his younger brothers good luck  and is always constantly looking to undermine his good hearted brother….(fucking hater) lol.

Upon being befriended by a local low budget wannabe gangster (who takes homeless and orphaned children off the street and makes them earn him money by being professional beggars and prostitutes!) Jamal befriends a beautiful young girl who is also held captive by the aforementioned gangster named Latika.

Jamal is smitten by the young Latika at first sight and they establish a friendship which is hated on by the older brother Malik so much as to the point when they escape from the gangsters clutches by hoping aboard a train, Malik snatches his hand away from the outstretched arm of Latika leaving her to a life of prostitution in the hands of this madman.

From this point on the boys lives take different turns Malik wants a better life and wants it with Latika and does not rest a moment without thinking about her or looking for her.

Salim on the other hand loves the hustle  and wants to be a gangster…and i love his nickname (Gunmaster G) lol

Now i know what your saying what the fuck does this have to do with Who wants to be a millionaire.

Well years pass and Jamal with his fortune of luck and coincidence lands on the show and by fate all of the questions that he is being asked in some weird way are connected to his crazy life.

The asshole host India’s version of Regis Philbin (Regis ain’t a prick this guy is though)  between his intellectual barbs and subliminal shots at the young Jamal, He secretly thinks Jamal is cheating to quote him in one scene he says..”This kid from the slums has answered questions that some of the greatest minds in the world could not answer”, and has him taken into custody and interrogated (brutally i might add). With all that being said and done Jamal’s only focus is reuniting with the beautiful and fine as hell Latika (grown up version played by Frieda Pinto). Cant say I blame him cause that’s a fine piece of Indian food would love to dine on yesssir…spiccccyyyyyyyy.

So this kid with all of India watching is playing for 20 million rupees (which i found out is only a half a million in US currency, not saying i couldn’t use it but thats some bullshit! lol ), the love of a woman that he hasn’t been able to capture, and all of the slums….ties this brilliant movie  which is sure to win for picture of the year…in my opinion with one answer….D: Jack Hobbs!

My final answer is BUY IT !
